THE PROBLEM
The grid is not built for how you work.
If you're running projects, depots, or facilities with limited or no established grid coverage, then you already know this. The wait is long, the costs are high, and diesel or fossil fuels are not a strategy.

31 Months
The Wait Is Unworkable
Ontario's average commercial grid connection takes 31 months from application to energization. In many rural and peri-urban corridors, new capacity does not exist at any price. Capital upgrade assessments run $50,000 to $500,000 and that cost falls entirely on the applicant.

Diesel Is A Liability
Diesel generators fill the gap for constrained and temporary sites, but at $0.45 to $0.65 per kWh all-in including fuel, maintenance, and downtime. Federal carbon pricing is legislated to increase every year. Every month you run diesel, your cost floor rises.

Carbon Costs Are Climbing
The federal carbon price follows a statutory schedule and increases every April 1. Diesel-dependent operations face a compounding cost cliff that is locked in by law. Organizations that transition to clean energy now, lock in their rates before the gap widens further.

THE SOLUTION
Renewable energy,
physically delivered.
premaVolt generates solar energy on agricultural land, stores it in mobile units, and transports it directly to your site. No grid tie-in at either end. No regulatory hurdles. No capital upgrades required.
1
GENERATE
Solar energy is produced above working specialty crops using our above-canopy system. Not just a solar farm, our system is designed from the ground up to provide major crop benefits. Fully removable, fully compliant with agricultural land regulations. We focus on the crops first; energy is our by-product
2
STORE & MOVE
Energy is stored in mobile containerized battery units that travel by flatbed directly to your site, swapping on a regular schedule. The standardized connection means no site infrastructure beyond our first-time setup, and fast battery replacements.
3
DELIVER
Your site receives clean, metered power on a subscription basis with per-kWh pricing. Predictable costs, an auditable chain of custody for any ESG reporting requirement, and clean power from a provable Canadian source. Adopting today also means a local farmer can adopt otherwise unattainable agricultural technologies. Power today while growing tomorrow together!
WHO WE SERVE
If the grid is your
bottleneck, this is for you!
Any community or organization that needs clean power, where the grid cannot deliver it on time or on budget.
MUNI
Municipalities & Counties
Electrify community facilities, transit depots, and capital projects ahead of grid upgrade timelines. Subscription energy pairs directly with FCM Green Municipal Fund and NRCan CERC grants, reducing your net cost to near zero.
PAIN POINT: 2 TO 4 YEAR GRID TIMELINES BLOCK APPROVED CAPITAL PROJECTS
SITE
Construction & Development
Temporary clean power for phased developments, construction sites, and projects in grid-constrained corridors. No generator contracts, no fuel logistics, no carbon liability. Clean from day one.
PAIN POINT: DIESEL DEPENDENCY ACROSS 2 TO 5 YEAR SITE DEVELOPMENT TIMELINES
EV
EV Fleet Depots
Fleet electrification stalls when a grid connection assessment returns at $200K and 18 months. premaVolt delivers scalable depot charging now, letting you start the transition before the infrastructure catches up.
PAIN POINT: GRID UPGRADE COSTS BLOCK FLEET ELECTRIFICATION GOALS
COM
Remote & Industry Specific Energy Needs
Cold storage, processing facilities, and industrial operations in rural Ontario and BC face chronic grid limitations. Subscription energy delivered on a schedule matched to your operational load requirements.
PAIN POINT: GRID CAPACITY CONSTRAINTS LIMITING OPERATIONS & GROWTH
BUILT DIFFERENT
Avoiding regulatory barriers before the rules existed!
Most energy projects run into regulatory barriers late in the process and spend years navigating them. premaVolt was architected from day one to avoid the classifications that trigger those barriers entirely.
This is not regulatory luck. Each design decision was made deliberately to keep the system compliant with regulations on prime agricultural land in both Ontario and BC, without requiring a grid-connection approval, a permanent land-use permit, or a utility-scale solar designation.
1
DESIGN DECISION
No Permanent Footprint
All structures use removable helical pile foundations with no concrete footings. Under Ontario Provincial Policy Statement Section 2.3.3 and the BC Agricultural Land Commission Act, removable structures are treated as temporary on-farm use rather than permanent land conversion. This avoids the solar farm designation that triggers a full agricultural impact review.
Ontario PPS 2.3.3 (on-farm diversified use) / BC ALC Act Section 20(3)
2
DESIGN DECISION
No Grid Connection Needed
The system operates entirely off-grid at both the generation site and the delivery site. This removes the requirement for IESO interconnection approval in Ontario and BC Hydro grid access processes in BC, both of which carry multi-year timelines and six-figure capital assessment costs. The mobile battery is the grid.

DESIGN DECISION
Mobile Battery Energy Storage
Battery units are transported on standard flatbed trailers under Transport Canada TDG Class 9 regulations. Because the storage system is mobile rather than fixed, it does not trigger municipal site-plan approval or fire code occupancy permits required for stationary BESS installations. The first North American mobile BESS certification was achieved by a Canadian manufacturer in July 2025, establishing the compliance pathway our units will follow.

BC Agrivoltaic Pathway Cleared
BC Bill 14 (2025) and Order in Council 585/2025 formally classified agrivoltaic systems as Level 3 Streamlined under the BC Energy Regulator, effective July 1, 2025. This legislation independently confirmed that the premaVolt system design qualifies for streamlined approval rather than full development permit review. This is external government validation of design decisions already made.

Are you a specialty crop grower?
premaVolt's above-canopy system is designed from the crop up, not the panel down. Wine grapes, ginseng, and other high-value specialty crops in Ontario and BC may be eligible for a grower partner position. The system regulates microclimates to create healthier crops and increase yields while reducing your climate risks, and requires no upfront capital from you. We are currently onboarding a limited number of partners for our pilot programs, or you can join our waitlist. Regions are added as energy delivery demand develops in each area.
